CODE OF IRIDOLOGY PRACTICE AND ETHICS

This Code of Practice and Ethics encourages integrity and responsibility in the practice of Clinical Iridology and to maintain and advance the standing of our profession.

  1. Members shall not write or speak disrespectfully of fellow members, either to the public or to clients.

  2. Members shall not diagnose, prescribe or treat a medical condition unless suitably qualified (i.e. as an Acupuncturist, Chiropractor and etc.)

  3. Members shall make no claims of "cures" or "treatments" for medical diseases.

  4. Members shall ensure that all clients who are receiving medical treatment for any medical condition or who are under the care of a medical doctor are advised to consult with their doctor or health practitioner before making any changes to their dietary or health regime.

  5. Members shall not recommend that clients cease a drug regime prescribed by a medical doctor.

  6. Members shall not seek to attract clients unprofessionally or in a manner that will effect the reputation of Clinical Iridologists and the practice of iridology. Any advertisements made by a member shall be discreet and accurate.

  7. Members shall ensure that their consulting rooms are clean, hygienic and professional.

  8. Members shall keep records of all clients including the following details: 1) past medical history, 2) medications and supplements, 3) health recommendations, 4) past dietary and health regime, 5) surgery, 6) iris analysis and 7) family history.

  9. The Iridologists' Association of Canada has the right to refuse membership in exceptional circumstances and to withdraw membership should any member breach this Code of Practice and Ethics.

  10. Members may give promotional talks and lectures on iridology but they may not offer practitioner or certified courses without the written approval of the board of directors.

  11. If for any reason membership is terminated or discontinued, the Association certificate and membership cared must be returned to the office. Furthermore, practitioners can no longer use the designation R. Ir. This designation must be removed from business cards and promotional advertising.
